FULL TIME: England 0:0 Ghana

Ghana controlled the duels and clearances, while England controlled the ball and the territory.

Both Ghana and England advanced to four points in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the 90+6 minutes ended in a goalless tie.

Despite having the highest ball possession percentage of any team in a World Cup match (78.8%), England struggled to break through Ghana’s strong defense, which was led by Thomas Partey in midfield and control.

At a pre-match press conference, Coach Carlos Queiroz stated that Ghana’s technical goal was to frustrate the three lions because they would be facing 33 million lions.

Ghana and England are still well on their way to the knockout stages with four points from two games apiece, but both teams still need to improve if they want to finish first or second in Group L.
