COCOBOD has disbursed GH¢2.6 million to Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) to settle payments to cocoa farmers across all cocoa-growing regions in Ghana.
The recent payment aims to ensure prompt payments to farmers, with about GH¢1.4 billion set aside to clear outstanding balances owed to farmers who sold cocoa on credit.
Since the beginning of the 2025/26 crop season, COCOBOD has paid a total of GH¢34.52 billion to LBCs for cocoa purchases.
Approximately GH¢1.4 billion of the GH¢2.6 billion released is designated to settle remaining balances owed by LBCs to cocoa farmers for credit cocoa purchases.
COCOBOD is collaborating closely with LBCs to guarantee that all affected farmers receive their due payments and has implemented monitoring mechanisms to ensure proper disbursement of funds.
The organization appreciates the patience and understanding shown by cocoa farmers and assures them that no farmer will be left unpaid for cocoa sold through the approved purchasing system.
Farmers awaiting payments are encouraged to contact the relevant LBC to resolve any outstanding issues.
