Deyemi explained that he had previously left a stable corporate career to pursue acting full-time with expectations of creative satisfaction and professional growth. However, over time, he began questioning whether the sacrifices were worthwhile.

Speaking about his experience, the actor said he became discouraged by what he considered inadequate pay and work that no longer inspired him.

He explained that waking up each day without a sense of fulfillment eventually influenced his decision to step away and reconsider his career direction.

Following his departure from acting, Deyemi returned to the corporate world and resumed work in the business environment where he had previously built experience in sales and marketing. Reports indicate that he later worked with Silverbird Film Distribution during that period.

Despite leaving Nollywood, the actor’s relationship with the industry did not completely end.

According to Deyemi, filmmakers and industry professionals continued reaching out with opportunities and encouraging him to return to the screen. Over time, those conversations influenced his decision to reconsider acting.

His eventual return marked a turning point in his career, leading to renewed visibility and appearances in major productions that helped re-establish his position as one of Nollywood’s recognised actors.

The actor’s comments have generated discussion across entertainment circles, with many pointing to broader conversations around remuneration, creative fulfillment, and working conditions within the film industry.
