Through these academic units, the University delivers specialised teaching, research, and community service across diverse disciplines.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"1176\">At the heart of UEW\u2019s academic structure is the <strong data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"532\">Faculty of Social Sciences Education<\/strong>, which provides rigorous training in the social sciences with a strong pedagogical foundation. The faculty comprises the <strong data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"691\">Department of Economics Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"730\">Department of Geography Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"767\">Department of History Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"814\">Department of Political Science Education<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"866\">Department of Social Studies Education<\/strong>. Complementing these departments are the <strong data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"938\">Centre for African Studies<\/strong>, which promotes research and scholarship on African histories, cultures, and development, and the <strong data-start=\"1037\" data-end=\"1092\">Centre for Conflict, Human Rights and Peace Studies<\/strong>, which focuses on peacebuilding, democratic governance, and human rights education.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1880\">The <strong data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1214\">Faculty of Science Education<\/strong> is dedicated to preparing science educators and professionals equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It includes the <strong data-start=\"1351\" data-end=\"1425\">Department of Agricultural Science Education and Environmental Science<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1462\">Department of Biology Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1501\">Department of Chemistry Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1552\">Department of Environmental Science Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1612\">Department of Information and Communication Technology<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1614\" data-end=\"1660\">Department of Integrated Science Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1701\">Department of Mathematics Education<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"1711\" data-end=\"1746\">Department of Physics Education<\/strong>. These departments play a critical role in strengthening science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"2439\">UEW\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"1910\">School of Business<\/strong> provides training in business and management disciplines that support effective leadership and entrepreneurship. The school is made up of the <strong data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2081\">Department of Accounting<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2138\">Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2140\" data-end=\"2177\">Department of Management Sciences<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2227\">Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"2237\" data-end=\"2294\">Department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management<\/strong>. These departments equip students with analytical, managerial, and entrepreneurial competencies relevant to both the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2441\" data-end=\"2928\">The <strong data-start=\"2445\" data-end=\"2488\">Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education<\/strong> is central to the University\u2019s mission of preserving and promoting indigenous languages and cultures. It comprises the <strong data-start=\"2608\" data-end=\"2646\">Department of Akan-Nzema Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2648\" data-end=\"2679\">Department of Ewe Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2681\" data-end=\"2718\">Department of Ga-Dangme Education<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"2728\" data-end=\"2765\">Department of Gur-Gonja Education<\/strong>. Through teaching and research, the faculty contributes significantly to cultural preservation, language policy development, and mother-tongue education in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2930\" data-end=\"3305\">UEW also hosts the <strong data-start=\"2949\" data-end=\"2991\">Faculty of Foreign Languages Education<\/strong>, which prepares students for multilingual communication and global engagement. This faculty includes the <strong data-start=\"3097\" data-end=\"3134\">Department of Applied Linguistics<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3136\" data-end=\"3171\">Department of English Education<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"3181\" data-end=\"3215\">Department of French Education<\/strong>, all of which emphasise language proficiency, pedagogy, and cross-cultural communication.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3307\" data-end=\"3706\">The <strong data-start=\"3311\" data-end=\"3338\">School of Creative Arts<\/strong> nurtures creativity, cultural expression, and artistic innovation. Its departments include <strong data-start=\"3430\" data-end=\"3447\">Art Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3449\" data-end=\"3467\">Graphic Design<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3469\" data-end=\"3488\">Music Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3490\" data-end=\"3524\">Textiles and Fashion Education<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"3530\" data-end=\"3546\">Theatre Arts<\/strong>. These departments combine theory and practice to produce graduates capable of contributing to the creative industries, education sector, and cultural economy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3708\" data-end=\"4156\">Professional teacher development is further strengthened by the <strong data-start=\"3772\" data-end=\"3856\">Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD)<\/strong>. The institute comprises the <strong data-start=\"3886\" data-end=\"3936\">Department of Assessment and Quality Assurance<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3938\" data-end=\"3991\">Department of Continuing Professional Development<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"4001\" data-end=\"4063\">Department of Internship and Supported Teaching in Schools<\/strong>, which collectively support teacher training, supervision, and lifelong professional growth.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4158\" data-end=\"4529\">The <strong data-start=\"4162\" data-end=\"4208\">School of Education and Life-Long Learning<\/strong> focuses on foundational and administrative aspects of education. It includes the <strong data-start=\"4290\" data-end=\"4323\">Department of Basic Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4325\" data-end=\"4366\">Department of Educational Foundations<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"4376\" data-end=\"4445\">Department of Educational Management and Administration Education<\/strong>, providing leadership training and research in education policy and administration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4531\" data-end=\"5088\">UEW\u2019s commitment to health and wellbeing is reflected in the <strong data-start=\"4592\" data-end=\"4659\">Faculty of Health, Allied Sciences and Home Economics Education<\/strong>. This faculty consists of the <strong data-start=\"4690\" data-end=\"4739\">Department of Clothing and Textiles Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4741\" data-end=\"4804\">Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4806\" data-end=\"4856\">Department of Family Life Management Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4858\" data-end=\"4904\">Department of Food and Nutrition Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4906\" data-end=\"4955\">Department of Health Administration Education<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"4957\" data-end=\"5024\">Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"5034\" data-end=\"5087\">Department of Integrated Home Economics Education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5090\" data-end=\"5518\">Communication and media training are provided through the <strong data-start=\"5148\" data-end=\"5193\">School of Communication and Media Studies<\/strong>, which houses the <strong data-start=\"5212\" data-end=\"5255\">Department of Communication Instruction<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"5257\" data-end=\"5300\">Department of Development Communication<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"5302\" data-end=\"5348\">Department of Journalism and Media Studies<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"5358\" data-end=\"5399\">Department of Strategic Communication<\/strong>. These departments prepare graduates for careers in media, public relations, development communication, and education.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5520\" data-end=\"5874\">Finally, the <strong data-start=\"5533\" data-end=\"5589\">Faculty of Applied Behavioural Sciences in Education<\/strong> addresses human development and learning needs.
